Bharat chaff cutter is an agricultural machine designed to cut straw, hay, and other types of dry or green fodder into small, digestible pieces for feeding livestock such as cattle, horses, goats, and sheep. The primary purpose of a chaff cutter is to:

1. Manual Chaff Cutter:

   • Operated by hand.

   • Suitable for small-scale farms.

   • Low cost and low capacity.

2. Electric/Motorized Chaff Cutter:

   • Powered by an electric motor or diesel engine.

   • Medium to high capacity (500–1500 kg/hr or more).

   • Suitable for medium to large farms.

• Cutting Blades: Sharp, rotating blades for chopping.

• Feeding Trough/Chute: Guides fodder into the cutting area.

• Gearbox or Flywheel: Drives the blades (motorized types).

• Frame and Housing: Holds the machine structure together.

• Discharge Outlet: Where chopped material exits.

The fodder is manually or automatically fed into the chute. Rotating blades cut the material into small pieces (chaff), which are then discharged for collection or feeding. Blade speed, feeding rate, and blade sharpness determine the efficiency and uniformity of the cut.
