Bharat disc plough is a primary tillage implement used in agriculture for breaking up and turning over the soil before planting crops. Key Components:

Working Principle:

As the disc plough is pulled forward by a tractor, each rotating disc:

• Cuts into the soil at a set depth and angle.

• Lifts and turns over the soil slice.

• Buries surface debris, weeds, and old crop residues.

Uses of a Disc Plough:

• Initial breaking of virgin or hard soils.

• Turning under green manure or crop residue.

• Deep ploughing to improve soil aeration and drainage.

• Preparing seedbeds for planting.

Advantages:

• Works well in hard, dry, stony, or root-infested soil.

• Better residue handling than moldboard ploughs.
